Why CMMC Level 2 Matters
The Department of Defense’s Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) is designed to protect the Defense Industrial Base from evolving cyber threats. Level 2 certification focuses on advanced practices that ensure companies working with controlled unclassified information (CUI) have robust systems in place to keep that data safe. For NACL, it’s not just a requirement, it’s a reflection of how seriously we take our role in the supply chain.

Looking Ahead
Each day, we are one step closer to achieving certification. The work we put in now is about more than checking a box—it’s about ensuring our customers have complete confidence that their projects, data, and intellectual property are safe with us.
“North American Coating Laboratories, as a trusted subcontractor, is working toward CMMC 2.0 Level 2 certification through implementing policies and procedures that comply with the 110 security controls of NIST SP 800-171. Through this process we have performed the Level 1 self-assessment, submitted the score to the SPRS DoD database, and are continuing to address and implement policies and procedures to attain Level 2 certification. Through documentation, frequent self-assessments, IT infrastructure, and POAMs, NACL strives to obtain compliance in accordance with the 48 CFR DFARS CMMC rule. Once the 110 security requirements have been addressed and implemented, a C3PAO (CMMC Third-Party Assessor Organization) will conduct an assessment to verify and certify that NACL is following the security standards required for CMMC 2.0 Level 2 compliance.” – Nicki Sava, Quality Manager of North American Coating Laboratories
