Welcome to North American Coating Laboratories

Thin Film and Optical Coating Manufacturer

In 1974, we started the optical coating company known as North American Coating Laboratories. NACL Inc. is an Ohio-based optical coating manufacturer that got its start creating thin film optical coatings for Rx lenses in the ophthalmic world. Since then, we’ve created new divisions and honed new processes that allow us to provide thin film optical coatings for a number of industrial purposes. These applications include the coating of aircraft windshields and various other polymer and glass-based mediums requiring either physical or chemical protection based on the industry. We have the capability of handling small- and large-scale productions and can accomplish such via multiple optical coating methods. We also manufacture optical coatings and thin film coatings for use in the ophthalmic and industrial fields. Learn more about our industrial and ophthalmic methods, materials, and capabilities—contact us if you have any questions about what would be best for your current application.

North American Coating Laboratories provides specialized optical coatings for a wide variety of customers in both the polymer and glass optics markets. Our customer base includes companies such as Boeing, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Corning, PPG, and many others.
